About me #
Hello and welcome to my blog! I am Luca-Leon, IT specialist for system integration, technology enthusiast, family man and someone who likes to master challenges.
What drives me #
What I love most about my job is the variety and the daily challenges. No two systems are the same and every project requires a new approach. This variety keeps me alert and motivates me to keep learning. In addition to my work, I run my own home lab where I experiment with virtualization (vSphere, Proxmox), open source applications and home automation. Of course, I pay attention to current best practices, especially in areas such as backup and security. Technology is not just my job - it’s my passion.
Technology meets family #
But my life is not just about IT. I am the proud father of a young son who inspires me every day. Watching him grow and learn gives me so much joy. Spending time with my family, going for walks in the fresh air and doing things together are just as important to me as my professional and technical projects.
My values #
In my work and everyday life, honesty, loyalty and mutual respect are particularly important to me. I believe that open and appreciative interaction helps us to move forward - whether through positive or constructive feedback. It’s not about being perfect, but always learning something new and developing together.
My path into IT #
Before I became an IT specialist, I worked as a curative education nurse, first with people with disabilities and later with young people in youth welfare. But my enthusiasm for IT was always there, and at some point I decided to follow my interest. This decision was one of the best steps of my life. Today, I can say that I am truly passionate about my job.
Why I blog #
With my blog, I want to share my knowledge and experiences - be it from the world of IT or from everyday life. My aim is to inspire others to tackle their own projects or simply to provide food for thought. If you find something here that inspires you or helps you, I’d be delighted.
Goals and dreams #
I believe that you can be the best version of yourself every day. And I am convinced that you grow the most when you leave your comfort zone. Personally, I would like to travel more in the future - even beyond Europe - and experience the diversity of the world.
A piece of advice for my younger self #
“Don’t think too long. Just get started! There will always be a result that you learn from.”
